Roulette Betting Tips Can Be Given In Two Words: Don't Play

Einstein had some roulette betting tips: He said that the way to win at roulette is to steal chips when the croupier is not looking.

And that's the end of the story. Don't argue with Albert - you cannot win playing roulette.

Sure, you can have the odd win here or there. And if you are really lucky you could even have a big win. But the odds are not in your favour.

Let me explain: All roulette wheels have 18 red and 18 black numbers. Some have one zero, some have two zeros. It is the zero that is the key: If you bet on red or black you get even money odds, but your chances of winning are less than even money because of the possibility of spinning a zero. This logic extends to every possible game you can play on roulette - if it wasn't for the zero/s the odds would be fair (in which case you'd expect to come out even over the long term) but with the zero/s they are unfair and not in your favour.

Because you can't exercise judgement (it is totally random what will come up each spin) you cannot win. Ignore everyone who tells you to look at the pattern of numbers or to double you bets when you lose or whatever stupid scheme they come up with.

If you're going to play roulette do so for fun only - have a few (small) bets when you're at a casino with friends and enjoy the thrill. If you win a bit - great. If you lose a bit - so be it. But then walk away from the table and out of the casino!
