My Greyhound Betting Tips....For What They're Worth
I thought long and hard before including a page on greyhound betting tips - mainly because I find it near imnpossible to win betting on greyhounds.
Then one day I was waiting for my meal at a club to be served and, bored with the conversation of my companions, I wandered across to the betting area and decided to have a token bet on the dogs...

Analysis
I diligently studied the form (not that there was much) and chose a dog who seemed to be just a good a chance of winning as the only two in the betting, (but was attractively priced at $29) and I decided to have $5 each way on it. As described in
my betting diary,
it was barrelled by the other dogs and faded to finish last, after a promising start.
This presented me with a moral dilemma. I had committed to detailing every single bet I had in my betting diary on this site, but surely this didn't count! A joke bet on a dog race at some small country town based on 2 minutes form 'analysis' while I waited for dinner. Pleasingly I chose the high ground and did the ethically thing and recorded the tragic event for posterity.
But it raises the question - is betting on the dogs just like taking a lottery ticket? They seem a little bit mad - always colliding into each other - and the box they jump from has such an impact that it makes judging form very difficult.
For me the jury is out. I have never given the sport a serious go - and until I do I'll reserve judgement on whether or not by applying the value and judgement principles espoused on this site it really is possible to profit on the dishlickers.
If anyone out there has made a success of it (or if you've failed) I'd love to hear from you!
